Nursing

Completion Options

Each of the nine core nursing courses are offered every seven weeks. Any core nursing course or courses may be taken during any seven week term, as long as prerequisites, if required, are met. The three schemas outlined below are a suggested order for taking courses. Please note:

  • Statistics must be taken prior to taking NBSN 4062: Scientific Basis for Evidence-Based Practice.
  • NBSN 4061 and NBSN 4078 should be completed by the end of the first semester.
  • In the 18-month option, students may elect to take statistics (NBSN 4082) the first semester and take NBSN 4078 the first seven weeks of the second semester.
  • NBSN 4068 Capstone is a semester-long course. Pre-requisites for the course are NBSN 4061, NBSN 4062, and NBSN 4078.
  • No general education pre-requisites are indicated in the schemas. If these pre-requisites remain unfinished when students begin the BSN nursing core coursework, this may add to the time to complete the degree.
  • The statistics course offered by the RN-BSN program is NBSN 4082: Introduction to Biostatistics for Health Professions (3 credits), and is a full-semester course.
