All students using a Windows computer should have access to an iPad capable of running the latest version of iPad OS for Apple-specific coursework. Please check this page for details on hardware and software compatibility.

Please note: Alternative systems such as Chromebooks or Linux computers are not compatible with UC College of Nursing's technology landscape. Our testing platform and classroom technology require either a MacBook, or a Windows device paired with an iPad.

How do I learn more about my device?

UC offers access to free trainings on LinkedIn Learning. Be sure to login to LinkedIn Learning before accessing the trainings below.

You can also drop by the OLDDI helpdesk on the fourth floor of Procter Hall or call 513-558-5205 for one-on-one assistance Monday – Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

How will I use my MacBook for exams?

Exams at the CoN are administered through Examplify or Canvas. As long as your MacBook is running the most current version of Mac OS, you will be able to access your exams without issue. Students testing via Examplify also have the opportunity to take a practice exam to ensure their device is configured properly and is compatible. Additional instructions and training will be provided by individual course instructors.

What is the CoN Catalog?

The CoN Catalog (also referred to as Self Service) is a library of commonly used apps supported by the college and the broader University such as EndNote and Microsoft Office. Once enrolled, you will see the Catalog’s app icon on the dock (bottom of the screen) and/or within the Applications Folder of your MacBook. Self Service will automatically install when you enroll your device in the JAMF Mobile Device Management System.
