RN to BSN Online Completion Options

The University of Cincinnati College of Nursing offers three RN to BSN Online program completion options: a full-time, two-semester schedule; a part-time, three semester schedule; and a part-time five-semester schedule.

Core Bachelor of Science in Nursing courses are offered every seven weeks. Any core nursing course or courses may be taken during any seven-week term, as long as program requirements are met. (The only exception is the 14-week, full semester capstone course.)

The three schemas outlined below offer a suggested order for taking courses.

Note the following program requirements:

  • Statistics must be taken prior to NBSN 4062.
  • NBSN 4061 & NBSN 4078 must be completed by the end of the first semester.
  • In the five-semester option, students may elect to take NBSN 4082 (statistics) the first semester and NBSN 4078 the first seven weeks of the second semester.
  • NBSN 4068 Capstone is a semester-long course. Students must complete NBSN 4061, NBSN 4062, and NBSN 4078 before taking the capstone course.

No general education courses required for the RN to BSN Online are indicated in the schemas. If these courses remain unfinished when students begin the BSN core coursework, this may add to the time it takes to complete the degree.
