Critical Requirements FAQ

General Questions

Allow up to 5-7 business days to process submissions and up to 6 weeks for background checks. CastleBranch also offers an expedited review process for a fee. If interested, students would need to contact CastleBranch’s customer experience team for more information on the process and fee amounts.

It is not necessary to resubmit all immunization records; you only need to submit the annual update requirements when they are due for renewal.

Blood Borne Pathogen To be completed at University of Cincinnati: Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Training portal, within the past 12 months.  
RN license verification Print out verification from NCSBN Licensure QuickConfirm . If your state does not participate, you may supply verification from your state board of nursing. States who do not participate may submit from their respective board of nursing: the full name, license number, discipline (if any), and dates of certification required.  
CPR American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) card verifying certification of completion of an adult, infant, and child Basic Life Support (BLS) front & back copy of card is required.  
Seasonal flu vaccine Your vaccine administration record noting the vaccination name, date, and provider is acceptable. Exemptions (i.e., health care provider documented allergies) are granted at the discretion of the agency to which you are assigned. Exemption request forms may be downloaded from Canvas. By Oct. 15.  
HIPAA privacy introduction   To be completed at https://ce.uc.edu/cpd/Categories within the past 12 months.  

Immunizations and Titers

All students are required to submit positive titers regardless of vaccination history.

Yes. You may still start the program at your scheduled time if you have started the series and have provided proof before the deadline. You will be responsible for scheduling and finishing out the vaccine series after classes begin. Failure to complete the series will put you out of compliance.

Complete the medical exemption form and have it signed by your health care provider. Vaccination and titer testing history should be included with the documentation. With approval of your agency, you may then be exempted from the requirement. You will need to follow agency precautions mandated by your inability to be vaccinated.

The College requires all students participating in clinical experience to submit documentation of annual seasonal flu vaccination by Oct. 15. Exemptions (i.e., health care provider documented allergies) are granted at the discretion of the agency to which you are assigned. Exemption request forms may be downloaded from Canvas or from your CastleBranch profile. The facility must approve your exemption request and you must adhere to any required provisions.

Background Checks and Drug Screening

No. Students must complete the background check requirement through an approved CastleBranch service provider. Follow the guidelines on our background check to-do-list. No exemptions will be provided.

No. Students must complete the drug screening requirement through an approved CastleBranch service provider. Follow the instructions on your drug test e-chain. No exemptions will be provided.
