Since our first national conference in 2016, the iCoN Summer Institute has built momentum, attracting educators, health care providers and other professionals from around the country who want to leverage the iPad and technology to enhance the classroom experience and provide an innovative, engaging approach to learning.

This three-day event provides training from our experienced instructional designers and in-house information technology staff on integrating technology in teaching methods, using creativity- and productivity-boosting applications and more.

Drew Boyd

Drew Boyd, MBA

A 30-year industry veteran, Drew spent 17 years at Johnson & Johnson in marketing, mergers and acquisitions and international development. As director of Marketing Mastery at J&J, he created and led an internal marketing university that taught executives the skills of innovation, strategy and persuasion. Today, he trains, consults and speaks widely in the fields of innovation, persuasion and social media. He is an associate professor of marketing and innovation at the University of Cincinnati. His work has been featured in numerous business publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Industry Week, Psychology Today, and Strategy Business. Drew is also co-author of "Inside the Box: A Proven System of Creativity for Breakthrough Results" and the author of a newly released book, "So You Want to Be a Professor: How to Land Your Dream Job in Academia."

Institute Objectives

At this event, you will:
  • Experiment with iPad technology in a simulation setting;
  • Learn how to adapt existing courses and use iPad applications to improve learning outcomes;
  • Learn how to maximize technology use in clinical and lab situations; and
  • Learn to implement and use technology for classroom assessment and evaluation.
