About the webinar:

What is the possibility of an AIDS-free generation? The webinar, “National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the United States:  Slowing the Spread of HIV Infection,” will identify and define the three goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy; discuss the recent advances in HIV care and prevention; and review the epidemiological trends in HIV/AIDS on a national and local level.

Yolanda Wess

Yolanda Wess, RN, BSN, ACRN

About the speakers:

Alumna Yolanda Wess, RN, BSN, ACRN, is principal research assistant and site director at the University of Cincinnati (UC) Local Performance Site of the Pennsylvania/ Mid-Atlantic AIDS Education and Training Center, acting as liaison to national, state and local organizations with a mission to improve care for those infected with HIV by providing education and training to healthcare providers in 57 counties throughout Ohio. She is a frequent speaker on topics of HIV care and prevention throughout the region and has been an AIDS Certified RN since 2007. She currently holds the position as director at large as a member of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care and held the position as an AIDS clinical trials nurse, and CQI and community outreach coordinator at the Clinical HIV Care Unit from 1998-2003. From 2009- 2010, she was the regional representative with the HRSA-funded AETC National Resource Center, Adult Learning Workgroup and is currently a member of the UC chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Tammy Mansfield

Tammy Mansfield, RN, BSN

Alumna Tammy Mansfield, RN, BSN, is the clinical trials manager at the UC Infectious Diseases Center AIDS Clinical Trials Unit and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, including research and personnel. She is the manager of the Ryan White Part C staff of the Infectious Diseases Clinic and has been involved in its HIV nursing and research since 1987. In 1993, Mansfield co-founded the Red Ribbon Team, a small hospice team for patients with end-stage AIDS. She was also a member of the Site Management and Clinical Care Committee of the NIH-funded AIDS Clinical Trials Group from 1997 – 2011, and served as Chair from 2008 – 2010.
