UC Clermont Nursing students enjoying classConnie J. Fenton, RN, FNP, MSN, NHA, Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing was presented the Mental Health Heroes Award presented by The Partnership for Mental Health of Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Selection was made for her commitment to improving suicide prevention on area college campuses and her role in helping students establish an Active Minds Chapter at UC Clermont. Active Minds is an organization working to increase students’ awareness of mental health issues and provide information and resources for seeking help when needed.
Mental health issues can have detrimental impact on a student’s academic performance. As a faculty member, Connie is committed improving awareness and prevention when it comes mental health disorders.
