Membership Criteria for Students and Nurse Leaders in the Community

Membership in Sigma Theta Tau International, The Honor Society of Nursing is by invitation only and is based on the following eligibility criteria for undergraduate and graduate students:

Undergraduate Students

• Completed 1/2 nursing curriculum
• Hold at least 3.0/4.0 GPA
• Rank in upper 35% of class
• Maintain academic integrity
• Demonstrate leadership potential

Graduate Students

• Completed 1/4 nursing curriculum
• Hold at least 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Maintain academic integrity
• Demonstrate leadership potentia

The eligibility criteria for Nurse Leaders (registered nurses) in the community are to

• Hold a baccalaureate degree in any field
• Be a registered nurse, recognized to practice
• Have demonstrated achievement in the field of nursing
