Study, Testing, Relaxation Tips & Resources
Study Tips
- Print 2 copies of notes using “Notes” version of slides.
- Use one to get the extra information during class.
- At a break in the day, or that night take out the 2nd copy and rewrite notes, including extra info you remember.
- This becomes the notes you use to make flashcards or study from.
- Flashcards include all info, separate by “Right on 1st try, 2nd, 3rd..." go through cards starting with hardest questions.
- Give yourself a curfew of 11pm the night before a test to stop studying, do breathing and GO TO BED!
Test Taking Tips
- Use a breathing exercise as tests are handed out.
- When given test, read the question two times, underlining key information.
- Think of the answer before looking at those given, apply it to real world situation if possible.
- Compare answers.
- When looking at answers, cross out those that don’t feel right. You will probably be left with 2-3 to choose.
- Don’t second guess yourself- go with your gut!
- If you cannot answer within a minute, or do not understand, circle and move on until the end.
- Remember, not everyone who finishes early or before you is any more intelligent or will receive a better grade.
Relaxing Tips
- Breathing exercise before bed, before test, and during (1x) if you get antsy.
