Don't study
Don't go to class
Don't take notes in class
Don't do all of the sssignments
Miss exams
Sleep during class

U.W. (Unofficial Withdrawal)
This mark is the same as an “F” in your G.P.A. This grade is given to students who quit attending class and do not submit an Add/Drop form by the posted deadline.

I (Incomplete)
This mark is the same as an “F” in your G.P.A. if you do not complete the work within one year after the quarter you earn the “I”. A grade of “I” is only given to students who make prior arrangements with the faculty member to complete the work after the class has ended.

Good Academic Standing
In the College of Nursing, students are considered to be in “good academic standing” if their GPA is a 2.0 or above. Beware that the following grades can pull your GPA below a 2.0: C+, C, C-, ,D+, D, D-, F, UW, I.


How To Save Your G.P.A.

Before the Term Begins

  • Meet with your Academic Advisor to go over your schedule.
  • Check your schedule.  Be sure you are registered for and attending all the right classes.

During the Term

  • Check each course syllabus for Assignment and Exam dates. Mark these dates on a calendar or planner so you can plan to get them done!
  • If you are having trouble in a class contact the instructor or T.A. (teaching assistant) for assistance.
  • Get a tutor from Mollie Labeda, or Tutorial Services, (513) 556-3244.
  • Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss other options.

End of Term

  • Check grades immediately. If any are different than you expected contact the professor.
  • Contact the instructor to resolve ‘I’ (incomplete) grades.
  • Contact your Academic Advisor about grade replacement policy for any courses you did not do well in.
