16th Annual Florence Nightingale Awards
for Excellence in Nursing

Presented by the Board of Advisors
for the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing

The Board of Advisors of the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing hosts the Florence Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing annually. Nominations are accepted from patients, family and friends of patients, colleagues, physicians and other health care workers and are accepted beginning January 1 of each new year.

The goal of these awards is to recognize professional nurses for their contributions to direct patient care. Board of Advisors Nightingale award winners receive $1,000, as well as a commemorative award. Dean’s award winners receive $400. Final selection of the award recipients is made by a committee of the Board of Advisors. Selection is not based on the number of nominations received; however, all nomination forms submitted for each nurse are considered.

Nominees must:

• reside in the Greater Cincinnati area
• be employed in the Greater Cincinnati area
• be licensed as a registered nurse
• demonstrate excellence in direct patient care

Funds generated beyond expenses for this event will be used to support scholarships for undergraduate students of the UC College of Nursing.
