RESEARCH
Dr. Miller has a wealth of multidisciplinary research
experience that includes intervention studies, program evaluation, and
descriptive as well as various forms of qualitative research. Her research
endeavors have ranged from caregiver and care recipient simultaneous, but
independent perceptions of their relationship to examination of employed
caregivers use of community respite services. Given her interest in stroke, Dr.
Miller has had two focus areas pertaining to this topic: (1) the FAST Stroke
Educational Program that concentrates on educational interventions to improve
the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors for those most at risk for stroke; and
(2) examining the impact of ischemic stroke on the stroke survivor and their
family.
