University of Cincinnati Hospital

Opening in 1823 as the country’s first teaching hospital, the mission of the University Hospital was to provide care for the aged, indigent and orphaned. Today, this mission continues. University Hospital has an international reputation, bringing thousands of people, from the region and around the world, to Cincinnati to receive care from world-renowned physicians in state-of-the-art medical facilities.

University Hospital, in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center, claims many firsts including Albert Sabin’s development of the polio vaccine and the country’s first training program for emergency medicine physicians.

Children's Hospital Medical Center

Children's Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) performs the most surgical procedures of any children's hospital in the country. This 511-bed facility is the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center serving southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky, and eastern Indiana. CHMC provides medical care for children with the rarest and most complex pediatric diseases. Their mission is to become the leader in improving child health.

Since 1971, Mercy Hospital Mt. Airy has been serving the community at its expansive campus at Kipling Avenue and Banning Road at Mt. Airy. A full-service hospital, Mercy Mt. Airy offers cancer care, cardiac and women's health services and an array of other healthcare programs and services.
