Educational Mobility Programs - RN to BSN
Admission Requirements
Lower Division
Students may complete Lower Division courses prior to applying for
admission to the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Lower
Division courses may be completed at any college/university (see Transfer
Credits).
Upper Division
Requirements for Admission into the Upper Division of the program
include:
- Documented completion of an associate degree
or diploma program in Nursing
- Registered Nurse licensure (within completion
of the first quarter of the Upper Division)
Transfer Credits
RN/BSN students may receive transfer credit in any
of the following manners:
- Transfer credit for completed academic credit
courses at any college/university
- Credit through challenge examinations
- Academic credit for your associate degree or
diploma program in nursing.

Challenge Examination/CLEP
Information
Transfer credit can be earned by successfully completing
a challenge exam at the University of Cincinnati or by successfully
completing a College-Level Examination Program (CLEP test).

Getting Started
in the RN/BSN Program
Request a Transcript Assessment
Students interested in the RN/BSN Educational Mobility Program may
request a transcript assessment be completed to indicate:
- The transfer credit that will be awarded from
previous college/university academic courses.
- The courses that a student must complete prior
to entering the Upper Division.
To request a transcript assessment, send a cover
letter and unofficial copies of the any college/university transcripts
reflecting previously completed coursework to:

The cover letter should include your current mailing
address, current telephone number and your social security number. Please
allow 2 weeks for the transcript assessment to be completed.
Apply to the University of Cincinnati College
of Nursing
Before starting the Upper Division coursework, students must be
admitted to the University of Cincinnati. Students new to the University
of Cincinnati, or students who last attended a college/university other
than the University of Cincinnati, must submit the following information
to the University of Cincinnati Admissions Office:
- A completed University of Cincinnati Application
for Undergraduate Admission
- All transcripts of previous college work
- Application fee
Students who are currently attending, or last attended,
courses at a University of Cincinnati college campus, must submit an
Application for Change in College and Program to the College of Nursing.
This process will allow you to transfer throughout the University without
having to seek admission again.
